Biography

In 1982, Lubomir Zaoralek graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University. Jan Evangelists Purkine in Brno , Department of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy and Political Economy [1] . After university, he worked on the Czechoslovak television Ostrava as a playwright, from where he was forced to resign for political reasons. In 1986-1989 he was a member of the Czech National Social Party (then called the Czechoslovak Socialist Party). In November 1989, Lubomir Zaoralek became one of the founders of the Civil Forum in Ostrava .

In January 1990, Zaoralek was elected to the Czechoslovak Federal Assembly as a non-partisan, then from the socio-political organization Civil Forum . He remained a deputy to the Federal Assembly until the June 1990 elections. In 1994, he joined the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) .

In the 1996 elections, Zaoralek was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, then successfully re-elected in the elections of 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010. From July 11, 2002 to August 14, 2006 was Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies . In 2010 - 2013 he was Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the shadow government ČSSD .

He is chairman of the Masaryk Democratic Academy. Divorced, has three children.
