He studied at the Parisian colleges of Saint-Barb and Rollin, having received a law degree. For ten years, he headed the department of public education at the Passy City Hall, he himself taught the history of literature. He made his debut in print with the pamphlet Romantic Notes on Marion Delorm ( Fr. Notes romantiques à propos de Marion Delorme ; 1873 ), published with a preface by Alfred de Musset ; a year later he published a collection of poems and an essay “On the Origin of the Theater in Paris” ( fr. De l'origine du théâtre à Paris ). However, the path to fame opened Milieu acquaintance with Jules Massenet , who ordered the young writer the libretto of his opera Herodias ( 1881 ): despite the fact that the libretto, written by Millet in collaboration with Henri Gremont , was found to be unsuccessful for the Parisian premiere of Herodias ( 1884) was processed, this work laid the foundation for the vast legacy of Millier-librettist and brought him considerable income (it is reported that for the fee from the "Herodias" mother Millier completely rebuilt the Paris house where she lived with her son [4] ). In the translations, Migliet was staged on the French stage of Mephistopheles by Arrigo Boyto , André Chenier by Umberto Giordano , Rural Honor by Pietro Mascagni , Adriana Lecouvreur Francesco Cilea and Life is Short by Manuel de Falla (in the latter case, Migliet put a lot of effort in order for the French premiere to finally take place in 1913 in Nice [5] ). Sometimes Migliier also worked for a dramatic scene - in particular, Benito Pérez Galdos was staged in Paris in his transcription; at least two original plays by Millais - a comedy in verses “The April Symphony” ( fr. Symphonie d'avril ; 1878 ) and the farce “Maitre Jean” ( 1884 ) - were staged on Parisian stages. Compiled by Millais, the collection French Songs ( French: Chants français ) came out with a preface by Paul Deruleled .
At the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Miglier edited the newspaper Monde artiste illustré, awarded medals at several international exhibitions. He also served as vice president of the Society of Theater Authors and Composers. He was married to singer Ada Adini .
