Content

History

The first cartridge boxes were tall narrow boxes without a top, where a machine-gun belt was located with a “snake”. However, such a simple device, despite its compactness, did not exclude the possibility of adhesion of the tape links together and its rupture.

Advantages

  • Allows more compact contain and carry cartridges.

Weaknesses

  • It weighs heavier than a machine gun belt.
  • Difficulty loading, especially in battle.
  • Difficulty in extracting cartridges for use in other weapons with the same caliber (for example, equipping a Mosin rifle from a box from Maxim).
  • Possibility of jamming and tearing of the tape.

In popular culture

In the cinema

  • Brother 2 - to the Maxim machine gun of a caliber of 7.62x54 mm.

In computer games
