Biography
In connection with the dispute between the former Novgorod archbishop Serapion and Joseph Volotsky, the message from the followers of the latter (and I. I. Tretyakov among them) to the Volotsk abbot is known from 1510 , where they advised him to “ beat the former archbishop with a brow, ” and Joseph’s answer to this message.
Tretyakov-Khovrin received the post of printer about 1520 and on this basis participated in the meetings of the Boyar Duma . In 1523 he applied the seal to the spiritual letter of the Grand Duke of Moscow Vasily III Ivanovich .
In February 1527, the printer acted as one of the guarantors for Prince Mikhail Lvovich Glinsky-Dorodny .
By 1538, Tretyakov-Khovrin became the Grand Duke Treasurer and remained in this position until the beginning of 1549 . In 1547 , when the Tsar and Grand Duke Ivan the Terrible “went along the Crimean news ” with the army from the capital to Kolomna , Tretyakov-Khovrin was left with the treasury and the royal family in Moscow .
From the testament of the widow of Prince F.I. Strigin-Obolensky, it can be seen that Tretyakov-Khovrin gave money at interest ( “growths” ).
Before his death, he was tonsured a monk in the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery under the name of Jonah, leaving behind his only son - Thomas .
