Adam Kszczot ( Polish: Adam Kszczot , September 2, 1989 ) - Polish middle-distance runner, European and 2014 European champion and indoor European champion 2011, 2013 and 2017 at 800 meters, medalist in world championships. Member of the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics .

Biography

In 2007, he won a bronze medal in the 800 meter race at the European Junior Championships . After moving to the youth category, he twice became the champion of the continent among athletes under 23 years old (2009, 2011).

He achieved his first success at the adult level in 2010, when he finished third at the World Indoor Championships and the Summer European Championships .

In 2011, he won the European Indoor Championships and ran in the World Cup finals (sixth place).

At the Olympic Games in London, he reached the semifinals in 800 meters.

He defended the title of winter champion of Europe in 2013. He played at the World Cup of the year in Moscow, but could not reach the final .

At the 2014 European Athletics Championships, he won a distance of 800 meters with a score of 1.44.15. At the last stage of the 2014 Diamond League in Brussels, Adam Kschot set his new personal (and national) record in 1000 meters running - 2.15.72.

In the final of the 2015 World Cup, he lost 0.24 seconds to world record holder David Rudish and won a silver medal.

For the second time in a row, he became the summer champion of Europe in 2016, winning the final with a result of 1.45.18. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, he took third place in the semifinals and could not get into the decisive race (according to the result shown, 1.44.70 was the best among the retired participants).

In the winter of 2017, for the third time in his career, he won the European Indoor Championship .

In the 2017 World Cup final , at the finish line he lost only to the Frenchman Pierre-Ambroise Boss and for the second time in a row won the silver medal of the tournament.
