Origin

Came from the noble and boyar clan Morozov , one of the oldest boyar clans of the Grand Duchy of Moscow . The third son of the boyar and governor Grigory Vasilyevich Morozov-Poplev from marriage with a certain Maria. Brothers - Ivan , Vasily , Gregory and Roman Morozov-Poplevin.

Biography

Yakov Grigorievich Morozov was first mentioned in 1495 , when he was with his brothers in the retinue of the Grand Duke of Moscow Ivan III Vasilyevich during his trip with his son Vasily and grandson Dmitry to Veliky Novgorod . In 1500, the boyar of Prince Vasily Danilovich Kholmskaya and Grand Duchess Theodosia Ivanovna was mentioned in the wedding rank.

In August 1529 and May 1530, Yakov Grigorievich Morozov-Poplevin attended the reception of Lithuanian ambassadors, after which he fell into disgrace for some unknown reason. In August 1530, after the birth of the Grand Duke of the Moscow successor to the throne, John Yakov Grigorievich Morozov was released and returned to court.

In early May 1531, he again attended the reception of Lithuanian ambassadors, and then in June, with a rank of deceit, traveled to Kazan , where he planted the Russian protege Yanalei (Jan-Ali) on the khan’s throne. In October of the same 1531 he commanded a regiment of the left hand on a campaign from Nizhny Novgorod to Kazan , from where he returned in November of the following year. In 1534 - the second governor in Vyazma ; in July he was sent " to Smolensk, and with him dear Buzhany ."

In 1538, the okolnichnik and governor, Yakov Grigorievich Morozov-Poplevin, died, leaving behind his only son - Mikhail .
