Appearance

The rodent is medium sized. Length 120–140 mm, tail 30–40% of body length. The color of the top is gray-brown. The belly is whitish.

Distribution

The south of Turkmenistan , the north of Iran , the vicinity of Kopetdag . There was information about the population of this species in the south of Kazakhstan .

Lifestyle

The inhabitant of the desert, prefers to settle in tugai forests and reed beds along river banks, in rice fields, in mountain valleys. A rare animal whose biology is poorly understood.

The color of the fur is lighter than an ordinary vole . It differs from the public and Afghan voles by a long tail.
