Biography
Ivan Dolgov was born on June 15, 1909 in a village in the village of Arapetovka (now Novoderevenkovsky district of the Oryol region ) into a peasant family. He graduated from seven grades of the school and the labor faculty , after which he worked in the mine in the Voroshilovgrad region of the Ukrainian SSR . In 1930, Dolgov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . He graduated from the regimental school, then the Kharkov school of red elders and courses "Shot". He participated in the Polish campaign of the Red Army . Since June 1941 - on the fronts of World War II. By March 1945, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Dolgov commanded the 734th Rifle Regiment of the 233rd Rifle Division of the 26th Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front . Distinguished himself during the Balaton operation [1] .
On March 20, 1945, the Dolgov regiment was one of the first in the army to cross the Kaposh Canal and in battle destroyed more than 20 tanks and self-propelled artillery installations , as well as a large number of other military equipment and enemy manpower [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 28, 1945, Lt. Col. Ivan Dolgov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
In 1946, Dolgov was sacked. He lived in the city of Artyomovsk, Donetsk region of Ukraine , worked as the director of the Donetsk garment and shoe factory [1] .
He was also awarded the Orders of the Red Banner , Alexander Nevsky , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
