Pevzner Shmuel Yosef ( December 17, 1878 , Propoisk - May 7, 1930 , Jerusalem ) is a writer, industrialist, delegate to the First World Zionist Congress (1897), one of the pioneers of the settlement of Eretz Israel .

Biography
Born in Propoisk in the family of Nathan Pevzer. He received a traditional Jewish education. He received an engineering education at the Berlin Technical Institute (graduated in 1903). He participated in the first World Zionist Congress and was the youngest among the participants. He published articles in the Jewish press.
In 1905 he emigrated to Eretz Yisrael . In 1909, he was among the founders (along with N. Vilbushevich and Sh. Itskovich) of the Atid soap factory in Haifa , later the central quarter of the Jewish part of the city of Hadar ha-Carmel , a city library named after him (Beth-Pevzner "). He took part in the creation of the Technion , Haifa Real School and the first shopping center in the Khadar district (Haifa region) . He was also a member of the Haifa municipality and a delegate to the Assembly of Deputies (Asefat ha-nivkharim).

He was married to Leah Ginzberg - the daughter of Ahad ha-Am . Pevzner's sister, Shifra, was married to the Jewish writer Mordechai Hakochen.
