Biography
He received secondary education in the Yaroslavl seminary (1798-1806). He graduated from the Main Pedagogical Institute (1810). After graduation, he was left at the institute as a teacher of geography, and on July 12, 1811 he was appointed senior teacher of history, geography and statistics to the Vyatka gymnasium .
In 1818 he was elected a member of the Kazan Society of Lovers of Russian Literature; On February 3, 1819, he served as the director of schools in the Vyatka province.
Since 1820 he taught at Kazan University : from October 1, 1820 - an adjunct, from May 24, 1822 - an extraordinary professor, from August 11, 1823 - an ordinary professor in the department of history, geography and statistics. At the same time, in 1822, he was entrusted with the posts of student inspector and director of the pedagogical institute at the university, from May 29, 1823 to July 24, 1824 he was the director of the Kazan Gymnasium ; from August 3, 1826 to July 1830 he was again an inspector of students and director of a pedagogical institute.
Bazhenov printed: “Statistical and topographical notes on the Vyatka province” (1818) and “The experience of historical reasoning about the actions of the Providence in the construction of the kingdoms of the earthly and peoples” (speech delivered on January 17, 1823) [1] .
