Model LA100 , a micro civilian UAV , developed and introduced by Lehmann Aviation Ltd , a French manufacturer of multipurpose light unmanned aerial vehicles , in November 2012.
At the time of launch, the LA100 was the world's first fully automatic civilian unmanned aerial vehicle, specially designed for users who do not have any UAV control skills and even radio-controlled aircraft.
The LA100 was designed for professional aerial and video shooting with the GoPro camera . The Financial Times called the LA100 “a personal drone that lifts a camera into the sky and captures incredible landscapes while traveling.” [one]
LA100 was a fully automatic micro UAV flying along a predetermined path set by the manufacturer and not subject to change. [2] To launch it, it was necessary to install the GoPro camera on the wing of the aircraft. For oblique shots, it was possible to use GoPro Hero , Hero2 , Hero3 cameras , for vertical ones - GoPro Hero3 , as well as two cameras at the same time. The starting procedure involved turning on the motor by connecting the battery and performing simple manipulations (tilting the device 90 ° forward and then 60 ° back). The UAV was launched by hand, within 4.5 minutes flew at an altitude of 100 meters within a radius of 500 meters from the launch site, taking photographs or videos of the earth's surface and saving them on a memory card. After that, the device automatically returned to the launch site and landed within a radius of 20 meters from it.
In mid-2015, the company decided to withdraw the LA100 from production. The model was replaced by more modern micro-UAVs with more advanced technical characteristics.
The LA100 launched the LA line of Lehmann Aviation automatic drones, which also includes the LA200 and LA300 . The LA line is fundamentally different from the LM line . The latter is a line of micro-UAVs controlled from the ground during a flight using the Lehmann Aviation ground control system . This line includes the following civilian unmanned aerial vehicles: LM500 , LP960 .
