Tadeusz Gajci ( Polish: Tadeusz Gajcy , pseudonyms: Karol Topornitsky , Jan Osstsen February 8, 1922 , Warsaw - August 16, 1944 , Warsaw) - Polish poet , second after Bachinsky poet of his doomed generation (the so-called " generation of Columbus ").

Biography

He passed the matriculation exam underground and studied at the underground University of Warsaw. He was one of the founders and (after the arrest and execution of the Nazis Andrzej Trzebinski ) the editor of the famous almanac Sztuka i Naród ("Art and People"), known during the occupation, where he published his poems; He also wrote for the journal Kultura jutra ("The Culture of Tomorrow"). Collaborated with the propaganda department of the Regional Army .

How the poet made his debut in 1942 . His poems were close to the poetics of Polish "catastrophism", Tirta lyrics, patriotism.

He took part in the Warsaw Uprising , died on August 16 in the Stare Miasto (Old Town) area. After the uprising, he was buried at the Military Ponzki cemetery.

The experiences of the mother of the deceased Gaitsa are described by the famous "Ballad" of Ceslav Milos .
