Biography
Born in the family of a hereditary sailor, Vice Admiral R. S. Valrond (Walrond) [1] .
He entered the service in 1859. He graduated from the Naval Cadet Corps , was promoted to midshipman on April 8, 1862. Since November 2, 1864 - midshipman ; lieutenant - from January 1, 1868. In 1870 he went as a senior officer on the schooner Aleut to overseas voyage.
In 1877, K. R. Valrond was appointed commander of the Nerpa boat, and therefore moved to the Far East ; in 1880, sailed in the squadron of Vice Admiral S. S. Lesovsky in Far Eastern waters [2] .
In 1883 he was appointed commander of the Finnish Navy Company. In 1882-1884, he commanded the steamship Grand Duke Vladimir , in 1884-1887, transport Krasnaya Gorka, and in 1887-1889, the gunboat Uralets . The rank of captain of the 2nd rank he taught on February 26, 1885; Captain 1st rank - January 1, 1890.
In 1891 he was appointed commander of the Chesma squadron battleship and commander of the 33rd naval crew.
In 1895 (November 6), K. R. Valrond was promoted to Rear Admiral . From June 24, 1896 to 1899 he was the commander of the Sevastopol port and the Sevastopol city governor.
He was buried in the cemetery of the Kherson Monastery near Sevastopol [3] .
