Black Kei [1] ( African Swart-Keirivier , English Black Kei River ) - a river in South Africa . It flows through the territory of the Eastern Cape . Its origins are located in the Winterberg Mountains, southwest of Queenstown . The main tributaries are Klas-Smiths and Klipplat. Northeast of the city of Katkart merges with the White Cay River and forms the Big Cay River . There are several villages on the banks of the river. Part of the river forms the western border of the Tsolvana Nature Reserve. In the 19th century, Black Kay and its tributary Klipplat formed the northern border of British Kaffraria.
