Tulupov, Boris Davydovich

Prince Boris Davydovich Tulupov (d. 1575 ) is a Russian statesman and military leader, the oprichnina voivode and deceased , the favorite of Tsar Ivan the Terrible , the only son of Prince Davyd Ivanovich Tulupov and a certain Anna, betrayed to painful execution along with her son.

Biography

Boris’s father, the governor, Prince Davyd Ivanovich Tulupov, died when the Russian troops captured Kazan ( October 2, 1552 ).

Prince Boris Davydovich Tulupov was part of the oprichnina “ court ” of Tsar Ivan the Terrible.

In September 1570, it was mentioned in the retinue of Ivan the Terrible among the heads during a campaign against Serpukhov against the Crimean Tatars.

In the Tsar’s campaign from Sloboda on September 16, 1571, “the head in the camp of the emperor” [1] .

In the spring of 1572 it was mentioned in the royal retinue: “ Prince Boris Davydovich Tulupov’s head for sovereign ” during the campaign of “the Tsar and Grand Duke Ivan Vasilyevich all of Russia ... to their cause and to the zemstvo to their homeland in Veliky Novgorod ”.

In the winter of 1572/1573, he was the first head in the sovereign regiment on a campaign at Paide's Livonian fortress. According to the English diplomat Jerome Horsei , after the abolition of the oprichnina, Prince Boris Davydovich Tulupov became the “ big favorite ” of Tsar Ivan the Terrible .

In 1573, he was a prisoner, mentioned at the wedding of Magnus and Marya Vladimirovna Staritskaya [1] .

In 1574 he was bestowed as a prisoner and was among the leaders of the first post-priop government of Tsar Ivan the Terrible .

In January 1575, Prince B. D. Tulupov, together with A. F. Nagim , negotiated with the imperial messenger, then attended the king’s wedding with Anna Grigoryevna Vasilchikova . Lost a local dispute to Boris Fedorovich Godunov .

In the same 1575, Prince Boris Davydovich Tulupov fell into royal disgrace and was executed (he was put on a stake). The old mansion of Prince B.D. Tulupov was transferred to the Tsar Boris Godunov . Together with Boris Davydovich, his relatives, Prince Vladimir Vasilievich Tulupov and his sons Andrei, Nikita and Ivan, were executed.

With the death of Prince Boris Davydovich Tulupov, the princely family of the Tulupovs stopped.
