Edith Fisher ( German: Edith Fischer ; born February 18, 1935 , Santiago ) is a Chilean-Swiss pianist . Daughter of pianist Elena Weiss and viola player Sultan Fisher, granddaughter of pianist Anna Bund.

She began to study music under the guidance of her family, and then, on their recommendation, in 1952 she continued her education in New York under the direction of Claudio Arrau . Since the mid 1950s lives in Switzerland. In 1955 , she was awarded the Dinu Lipatti Prize in London. She performed in Europe, North and South America, India, Japan, etc. She married her student Jorge Pepi , performed with him in a duet, recorded two albums with the works of Schubert and Brahms , and in 1990 founded the festival International Piano and Chamber Week music ( Fr. Semaine internationale de piano et de musique de chambre ) in the city of Blonie . Among the solo recordings of Fisher, the works of Robert Schuman dominate.
