Biography
Born in the family of an official. Received higher technical education. In 1932, he was admitted to the ranks of the Union of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia, in 1935 - the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. at
In 1935 he was arrested and sentenced to a year in prison, after which he served in the army. After demobilization, he was repeatedly arrested by the police, despite this he took an active part in party work. In 1940 he went underground. He was an active participant in the national liberation struggle in Slavonia; ended the war as political commissar of the district committee of the Communist Party of Slavonia. He had the rank of reserve colonel.
- 1946-1947 - Chairman of the Planning Commission of the Government of the People's Republic of Croatia,
- 1947-1949 - Secretary General of the Cabinet of Yugoslavia,
- 1949-1950 - Head of the Agitation and Propaganda Department of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Croatia,
- 1950-1962 - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Croatia for organizational matters, member of the secretariat of the Federal Yugoslavia,
- 1962-1963 - Chairman of the Executive Council of the Socialist Republic of Croatia,
- 1963-1967 - Vice-President of the Socialist Union of the Working People of Yugoslavia Yugoslavia.
In 1969 he retired for health reasons. He was elected a member of the Council of the Federation of Yugoslavia .
Since 1946, Mr .. - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, was elected a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party.
