Geography

The village is located on both banks of the Shush river. It is surrounded by pastures and fields on the one hand and taiga on the other. The village received its name from the Ijushka River, which flows into Shusha.

History

The village of Ija of the Kaptyrevsky volost of Minusinsk district was founded in 1855 by immigrants from the Vyatka province . The population was 1200 people. There was a classroom school. The village was part of the Kaptyrevsky Prophet-Ilyinsky parish. The villagers sowed the land with winter rye, spring and winter wheat, etc. It had large areas of crops.
