Biography
Ion Inkulets was born on April 17 ( April 5 according to the old style) in 1884 [1] in the village of Rezen in the Chisinau district of the Bessarabian province (now Ialoveni district of the Republic of Moldova ). His father was a native of the village of Kainary, Bendery County, Konstantin Georgievich Inkulets, his mother was Maria Nikolaevna.
After graduating from the Chisinau Theological Seminary (1905), he studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Dorpat for a year. Disappointed in medicine, he moved to St. Petersburg , where he entered the Physics and Mathematics Department of St. Petersburg University .
While studying in St. Petersburg, he initiated the St. Petersburg Bessarabian community. In 1906-1907 he collaborated in the nationalist newspaper of the newspaper "Basarabia", owned by Konstantin Stere [2] [3] .
After graduating from university in 1915, he worked at a meteorological observatory. He taught physics, mathematics and astronomy in St. Petersburg private schools.
He took part in the February Revolution , was a deputy of the Petrograd Soviet from the Socialist-Revolutionary Party [2] . May 25, 1917 Ion Inkulets was appointed Alexander Kerensky representative of the Provisional Government in Bessarabia.
On January 24, 1918, Sfatul Tsariy declared the independence of Bessarabia from the Russian Empire by a majority of votes. March 27, 1918, by a majority vote, Sfatul Tsarii proclaims the unification of Bessarabia with Romania .
In 1919, Ion Inkulets, together with Panteleimon Halippa , participated in the creation of the Peasant Party of Bessarabia. In 1923, the party joins the National Liberal Party of Romania. Later, Ion Inkulec occupies such positions as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Romania, the Minister of Communications and Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Romania ( 1933 - 1937 ).
Member of the Romanian Academy .
He died on November 18, 1940 in Bucharest , and was buried in Bella Cemetery .
