History

The village of Lenka was formed in 1802, and it was called an old folk name - Minks. The immigrants chose a place by the river, which later became Lake Lenka. For some time it was called the "village at Lake Lenki." Then the settlement was called the village of Lenkovskaya, then it was given the official name Linevo at Lake. Lenka. The phrase "Linevo Lake" disappeared over time, and Lenka remained. The village was part of the Lenkovsky volost of the Barnaul district of the Tomsk province. In January 1903, the village was given the status of a village. By this time, a church with a parish school had been built, trading and wine shops were operating, and a seven-day fair was held annually in November. [3]

The name of the village of oikonym is based on the hydronym, which means that there are a lot of tench fish in the lake. Replacing the letter "and with" e "for the languages of Altai is the norm. The plural form in the village name reflects the common feature of Russian toponymy and Altai toponymic system in replacing possessive forms with the plural form. There is another version of the origin of the name of the village: there were so many fish in the lake that even those fishermen who were reputed to be lazy returned with a catch. [four]

In 1928, the village of Lenki consisted of 660 households, the main population being Russians. Center of the Lenkovsky Village Council of the Blagoveshchensk District of the Slavgorod District of the Siberian Territory [5] .
