Daniel Dee Brown ( born August 17, 1984) is an American professional basketball player . At the student level, he played for the University of Illinois from 2002 to 2006, which included many awards, including the Basketball Player of the Year according to Sporting News . Brown was selected at the 2006 NBA Draft in the second round by the Utah Jazz Club. He later played for the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns , and from 2007 to 2015 he played for various clubs around the world.

Content
Professional career
NBA
Brown was selected in the 2006 NBA Draft under a common 46 number by the Utah Jazz Club, but he was not offered a guaranteed contract. In the summer, Brown trained at the team’s camp, where he and several other newcomers fought for a place in the main team. On August 29, 2009, Brown signed a contract with Jazz. On November 14, 2006, Brown scored his first points at the National Basketball Association . For the first month in the league, he stepped out of the bench in 8 of 17 Jazz games. In his debut season, he played in 49 games, gaining on average less than two points per game.
He spent the 2007/08 season at the Turkish club Galatasaray Cafe Karun . On July 9, 2008, he signed a two-year contract with Washington Wizards . Due to an injury to Wizards' main point guard Gilbert Arinas , Brown began to appear in the starting lineup of the club. His average performance at Wizards was 2.4 points per game and 1.9 assists. On December 10, 2008, the club terminated the contract with him. December 23, Brown signed a contract with the Phoenix Suns , who were looking for a spare point guard. However, after two games for the “Sons”, in which he scored 2.5 points per game, the club terminated his contract. In 2010, the Dallas Mavericks invited him to their training camp, but it never came to the conclusion of the contract.
Overseas Career
On September 22, 2007, Brown decided that he would have a better 2007/08 season in Turkish Galatasaray than in Utah Jazz training camp.
On January 23, 2009, he signed a contract with the Israeli club Maccabi , where he spent the end of the 2008/09 season.
On August 11, 2009, he signed a contract with Air Avellino from the Italian Basketball Federation .
On November 16, 2010, he signed a contract with Qingdao Doublestar from the China Basketball Association .
In April 2011, he began to play for the Puerto Rican club " Piratas de Cebradillas " [1] .
July 21, 2011 he signed a contract with the Italian club " Teramo Basket " [2] . Since the summer of 2012, he has been playing for the Turkish club Turk Telecom . In 2013, he joined the Latvian WEF team [3] .
In September 2015, Brown announced the end of his playing career [4] .
After completing a gaming career
On September 8, 2015, Brown took over as Mike Thomas, Special Assistant to the Sports Director of the University of Illinois at Urban Champaign [5] .
