Diocese of Lirbe

The ancient city of Lirbe, identified today with the Asarkale archaeological site in what is now Turkey , was located in the Byzantine diocese of Asia. Until the fifth century, Lirbe was the center of the eparchy of the same name, which is part of the Metropolitanate of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Since 1875, the Diocese of Lirbe has been the titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.
