MAZ-5516 ^{[2] is} available with two cab options: short and long. The option with a cabin without a berth has an index MAZ-551603 ^[3]

MAZ-551608-236 is a modification for the transportation of grain. The difference from the base model is the possibility of bilateral lateral unloading. In addition, the volume of the platform in this car is increased to 22 m³ and, consequently, the carrying capacity is increased, which is 20 tons. Together with this car, a three-axle trailer with the same volume can be used. A YaMZ-7511 engine with a capacity of 400 horsepower was installed on the MAZ-551608 dump truck ^[4] .

The MAZ-5516 chassis is also manufactured.

Later, cars began to be equipped with YaMZ-6582.10 engines with a capacity of 330 liters. S., which comply with the Euro-3 standard.
