Basic Information
The “For Dignity” medal was established on September 20 ( October 2 ), 1835 by decree of [1] [2] Nicholas I. On November 8 ( 20 ), 1835 , the drawing of the medal [3] [4] [5] was supremely established.
Award Order
The medals were awarded to graduates of the Moscow Practical Academy of Commercial Sciences , who had the hereditary title of Honorary Citizen . Those graduates who completed the training perfectly, but did not belong to the class of honorary citizens did not receive this medal, but they themselves became honorary citizens [1] [2] [3] .
Medal Description
Medals were made of gold . Diameter - 28 mm. On the front side of the coin depicts a portrait of the emperor , who ruled during the award. For example, during the reign of Nicholas I on the front side of the medal was his portrait, and around the circumference along the edge of the medal there was an inscription: “ B.M. NIKOLAI I IMP. VSEROSS. ". Obverse subsequently changed with the beginning of the reign of the new emperor. On the back of the coin in the center is a caduceus (rod of Mercury ), decorated with an oak wreath and entwined with a snake . In the upper part of the coin along the arc there is an inscription: “ FOR DIGNITY. ", Below :" M.P.K. ACADEMIA ". Later, the inscription below changed to “ M.P. ACADEMII K.N. " [3] [4] [5] [6] . Medals were minted at the St. Petersburg Mint since January 1836 [3] .
Wear Order
The medal had an eyelet for attaching to a block or ribbon. Wearing a medal relied on the chest. The ribbon of the medal is Anninsky [1] [2] [3] .
