The Golden Ice ( The Cutting Edge ) is a romantic comedy by Paul Michael Glazer written by Tony Gilroy . The plot of the film is about a very rich, spoiled skater Kate Mosley (played by Moira Kelly ), who performs in pair skating and former hockey player Doug Dorsey (played by D. B. Sweeney ), who will later become her partner and, after passing the national selection They will go to the Olympic Games. The culmination of the film takes place at the 16th Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.

Story
Kate Mosley ( Moira Kelly ) is an eccentric rich and sophisticated woman, a figure skater without a partner, but who cannot be deprived of the desire to play the first violin. Doug Dorsey ( D. B. Sweeney ) is a well-known hockey player, recently injured, impudent and ambitious, and big hockey is closed to him forever. They are different, they have nothing in common, except the desire to win Olympic gold. Now each of them is hope and support for the other. Having united their forces, they, a strange couple, rush to the dream of their whole life. Their goal is a medal, but can love put everything in its place?
