Leskov Arkady Sergeevich ( January 26, 1797 - after 1858 ) - Russian navigator, member of the First Russian Antarctic expedition.

Biography
Born in 1797 in a poor noble family. In 1810 he entered the Naval Cadet Corps. Since 1811, he was a midshipman who took part in campaigns on the frigate “Malaya” from St. Petersburg to Kronstadt . In 1814, Mr .. - Midshipman, takes part in a campaign from Kronstadt to Stockholm and back on the transport "Young Edward".
In 1817, on the Do Not Touch Me ship, he made an expedition with a landing to the city of Calais in France and back to Kronstadt. From September 10 to September 14 he took part in the campaign on the frigate "Patrician" from Kronstadt to Revel, then in the combined squadron of Admiral von Manner he went to Spain to Cadix, where on delivery of the frigate to the Spanish government on March 1, 1818 he was sent from Cadix by transport "Rodion »In Kronstadt.
August 16, 1819 to August 16, 1821 he participated in a round-the-world Antarctic expedition to the Vostok sloop. During the expedition, one of the open islands was named after Lieutenant Leskov [1] . Following the results of the expedition, he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree.
In 1823, from May 25 to August 29, on the frigate Diana, he took part in a campaign from Kronstadt to Borgholm and back to Kronstadt. In 1824, on the Smirny sloop, on September 27, he went to the Peter and Paul Port as part of the crew, the sloop was damaged in the German Sea, and after stopping at the roads in the Norwegian port Arendal on May 17, 1825, he went back to Kronstadt.
In 1826, on the sloop "Moller" (under the command of MN Stanyukovich) from August 1 to October 4, 1929 he participated in circumnavigation [2] .
From July 3, 1830 to 1833, he was the commander of the Izhora guards steamer, sailing along the Baltic Sea. Since 1831 - captain-lieutenant of the guards crew. In 1832 he was awarded the Order of St. George of the 4th degree. In 1836 - commander of the bark "Patroclus" 26 naval crew. In 1836, dismissed from service. He was awarded the distinction of the immaculate service for XV years.
Since 1838 - a senior member in the Olonets provincial commission of preparatory reparations for the reception of state property. Court Advisor. Since April 3, 1839 - the manager of the Olonets Chamber of State Property. Since 1841 - a college adviser, since 1845 - a state adviser. In 1856-1857 he was a full-time state adviser, director of the Olonets provincial trusteeship committee on prisons. Since 1858, retired. In civil service he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree. After 1858, he died at his estate.
The family is the wife of Varvara Vasilyevna Alyabyeva, daughters Elena and Anna, son Nestor.
