Karolina Stychinska ( Polish: Karolina Styczyńska , born August 28, 1991 ) - the strongest player in shogi in Poland , as well as in Europe among women; has 3 dan FESA , 4 dan NSR , 1 female professional kyu . 2014 Shogi European Champion . The first and only professional non-Japanese shogi player in the world. Disciple of , 6th dan.

On January 1, 2015 she had a rating of Elo 2013, occupying the 1st position in the Polish and the 9th in the European FESA-list [1] .

Biography

Carolina was born and lived in Warsaw ; Graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics, University of Warsaw . He has been playing shogi since 2008 [2] .

In 2013, Carolina passed the test for admission to the Tokyo school of professional Kensyukai sesestoks ( Japanese 研修 会 kenshu: kai, "training courses" ) (3 wins, 5 defeats) and became the first non-Japanese student in these courses.

By the fall of 2013, she was enrolled in league C2, and in 2015 she achieved promotion to league C1, having received the 3rd female professional kyu and a diploma of temporary professional status.

In February 2017, she fulfilled the norm of the 2nd female professional kyu, having received a permanent professional status and becoming the first non-Japanese shogi player in history [3] [4] .

  • 2010: 5th place at the 26th Shogi European Championship ( Ludwigshafen , Germany ).
  • 2010: III place in the blitz tournament of the 26th European Shogi Championship.
  • 2011: III place in the 3rd Open Shogi Tournament in Krakow
  • 2011: 4th place in the main tournament of the 5th International Shogi Forum ( Paris ).
  • 2011: II place in the youth tournament of the 5th International Shogi Forum.
  • 2012: Champion of the 1st Cup of the Japanese Shogi Ambassador in Warsaw .
  • 2012: Champion of the 1st Polish Open Shogi Championship (Warsaw) [6] .
  • 2013: 4th place (and the best result among women) in WOSC-2013.
  • 2014: Winner of the European Shogi Championship ( Budapest ) - the first shoegist to become European champion .
  • 2014: Winner of WOSC.
  • 2014: Champion of the 6th open tournament in Krakow [7] .

Carolina is the only European siogist (both men and women) to win in professional title (female) matches: the first such victories over professional , 3rd dan (May 19, 2012) [8] [9 ] ] and , 2 dan (May 18, 2013) [10] [11] (both times - at the qualifying stage of Dzeryu-oza ) she won, even before entering Shoreikai.

In addition to shogi, Carolina was fond of playing go ; for 2012 it had 8 kyu EGF [12] [13] .
