Biography
Born February 9 (22), 1905 in the village. Maslovka (now Prokhorovsky District, Belgorod Region ) in a peasant family. Russian
He graduated from the Kharkov Pedagogical College. He worked at a mine in Makeevka, then in Kharkov . Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1932.
In the Red Army in 1927-1931 and since 1937. He graduated from the Air Defense School, Military-Political Academy. V.I. Lenin in 1941. In the same year at the front. Then in 1944 he graduated from the Higher Officer Artillery School.
The commander of the 507th anti-tank artillery regiment, lieutenant colonel Vasily Dmitriev with the artillery of the assault army group from January 17 to February 4, 1945 contributed to the rapid offensive of the army, causing great damage to the enemy in manpower and equipment. On January 30, he ensured forcing along the Oder River and the seizure of a bridgehead in the area of the village of Kinitz (16 km north of Zelov , Germany ).
After the war he continued to serve in the army. In 1946 he graduated from the Higher Academic Courses.
Since 1955, Colonel Dmitriev is in stock. He lived and worked in Moscow. He died on January 3, 1984 .
