Mtsensk Museum of Local Lore G. F. Solovyov is a city museum of local lore created by historian-local historian G. F. Solovyov (1894-1968) [1] .

History
It was created in 1919 as the “Mtsensk Museum of Visual Aids and the Local Land”.
In 1941, before the occupation, the German fascists were destroyed [2] . By the efforts of local historian-enthusiast Solovyov Georgy Fedorovich, in 1960 he was reopened in another building as the “Mtsensk Folk Museum”. In 1980, as the “State Museum of the History of the City of Mtsensk”, it was transferred to the building of a five-story residential building on Turgenev Street in the historical center of the city. Since April 1995 it has become municipal - “Mtsensk City Museum of Local Lore named after G.F. He is a member of the movement of the Association of Museums of Russia ( Tula Branch) [3] .
Current status
The modern exposition reflects quite clearly the history of the region, the development of crafts and trade, the life of a progressive public, the periods of the civil and Great Patriotic Wars. The themes that are especially interesting in the expositions are: “Mtsenskaya Fortress”, “Introduction of Christianity”, “Life and Crafts of the 19th Century”, “Religious Buildings”, “Famous Countrymen”, “First Tank Guard”, etc. In addition to the exposition and exhibition halls (460 m²), there is a storage facility (42 m²), an archive, a scientific library. Total storage units is about 19,000, of which 16038 are items of the main fund [4] . A branch of the Mtsela Museum [5] [6] has been created at the Orel University of GTU .

- A collection of military uniforms from the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. - 73 units
- A collection of wicker furniture of the 20th century - 7 units.
- Collection of Mtsensk lace - 40 units.
