HD-PLM

HD-PLM (High-Definition PLM Concept ) is a conceptual platform based on a visual, intuitive decision-making environment for product development. Siemens positions the HD-PLM solution as a form of user interaction with PLM technologies in a 3D environment ^[1] . The essence of the concept is to place the user of the future product in the development context, providing all the information to substantiate the decisions ^[2] . The basis of the following features:

Visualization and navigation of product data.
Search for the necessary information.
Comparison and receipt of information reports.
Checks for compliance with requirements and standards.
Setting up and sharing the working context.
Support for effective decision making.

Creation History

HD-PLM technology was first introduced at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China ^[3] ^[4] ^[5] .

Solutions

Active workspace

An active workspace is a personalized visualization environment that provides instant access to 3D information ^[6] . The system is based on a very developed search engine. A simple and intuitive interface allows you to easily find the necessary information stored in the system, subsystems, visual reports, Teamcenter PDM-system and other repositories. Active Workspace filters information in the context of the model the designer works with, doing it at a phenomenal speed. Among the advantages of the product: contextual search and navigation, quick access to data, a personalized interface, the ability to view a large amount of data on pre-configured settings, photo-realistic display, custom reports, queries based on the form of the model (shape-based query), selection of contact data in accordance with the ongoing project ^[7] .

Visual reporting

Visual reports are a technology for obtaining information (reports) in graphical form in 3D, it is based on data from 3D models, including data in the JT format and information stored in a data management system. Based on the collected data, the technology applies color coding, tags, grouping of product data presentation ^[8] ^[9] .

Checkmate

A tool for automated control of the geometry of parts, assemblies, drawings for compliance with standards and requirements of internal, industry and international standards ^[10] ^[11] .
