Biography
Born in the village of Kharsenoy of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the family of a teacher. In 1944, he was deported to Kazakhstan with his family. At the age of 15 he began to engage in freestyle wrestling . His first coach was Peter Matuschak . In 1958 he moved to Grozny and continued to train under the supervision of Supyan Lechievich Zubairaev .
Sports Activities
One of the founders of the Chechen freestyle wrestling school. He won the championship of the RSFSR among young men. In 1960 he became the champion of the Central Administration of the DSO "Harvest". In the same year he became a master of sports of the USSR . He graduated from the Higher School of Trainers at the Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow . In 1962 he became a member of the USSR national team.
Since 1963 he served in the army, where he continued to train hard. In 1964 he won the zonal championship of the RSFSR.
Coaching
In 1965, in Voronezh, the team of wrestlers, which he trained, took the second team place in the championship of the USSR among universities . In the same year, in Grozny, a meeting of the team of wrestlers of the agricultural institute of Alma-Ata , which was coached by Bagaev, with the team of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic took place. His students won the meeting with a score of 10: 0. After that, Bagaev was invited by the leadership of the republic to coaching in Grozny.
Soon his work yielded first results. The first winners of the championships of Russia in 1967-1968 were his pupils Alikhan Dzhamaldinov and Said Abdullaev. In 1969, Bautdin Duduev and Said Abdullaev won the championship of the RSFSR among young men. Then Bagaev was awarded the title "Honored Trainer of the RSFSR".
In 1970, Salman Khasimikov became the European Youth Champion. In 1973, in Alma-Ata, at the championship of the USSR among juniors, three gold and one silver medal were won by Khasan Ortsuev , Salman Khasimikov, Alikhan Dzhamaldinov, V. Akhmedov. And in the same year, two gold medals at the World Youth Championships in the USA were won by Khasimikov and Ortsuev.
In 1976, Aslanbek Bisultanov won the USSR Championship in Odessa and the European Championship in Istanbul . In 1977, in Lausanne ( Switzerland ), Aslanbek became the world champion. For these achievements Bagaev was awarded the title "Honored Coach of the USSR". At the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR in 1979, Bagaev’s pets won 8 medals, 4 of which were gold. Hassan Ortsuev and Salman Khasimikov each won two gold medals, Aslanbek Bisultanov received silver, and Ruslan Badalov became the bronze medalist. The champion of Europe became Taram Magomadov .
Over ten years of work as a head coach of the North Caucasus Military District, Bagaev raised many champions of the USSR Armed Forces . The SKVO team was the permanent champion of the Armed Forces.
He trained more than 150 masters of sports of Russia and the USSR, among which more than 20 masters of sports of international class , including 5 honored masters of sports. Some of his students themselves became honored trainers of the USSR and Russia . These are Alikhan Jamaldinov , Alkhazur Ilyasov, Bahu Akhmedov, Zhaa Umarov and others. Alikhan Jamaldinov founded a wrestling school in Khasavyurt . Among his pupils are the Saitiev brothers, Buvaysar (three - time Olympic champion ) and Adam (Olympic champion).
He worked as a head coach at the Arena Sports Club of the Moscow Department of Education. Helped disadvantaged children in Chechnya.
Rewards
Bagaev was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor . In 2012 he was awarded the FILA Medal for Outstanding Service. In 2013, D. Bagaev was awarded the highest award of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic - the Order “For the Development of Parliamentarism in the Chechen Republic”.
Memory
- One of the streets of Grozny near the Dynamo stadium was named after him.
- On August 2, 2015, a street in the village of Troitskaya was named after Bagaev [1] .
