The Archdiocese of Mbeya ( Latin: Archidioecesis Mbeyaënsis ) is the archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in Mbeya , Tanzania . The metropolitanate of Mbeya includes the dioceses of Iringa and Sumbawangi . The cathedral of the diocese of Mbeya is the church of Christ the King.

History
On July 18, 1932, the Holy See established the Apostolic Prefecture of Mbeya, separating it from the Apostolic Prefecture of Kigoma (today, the Diocese of Kigoma ).
On April 14, 1949, Pope Pius XII converted the Apostolic Prefecture of Mbeya into the Apostolic Vicariate.
On March 25, 1953, Pope Pius XII converted the Apostolic Vicariate of Mbey into a diocese.
On March 25, 1972, the Diocese of Mbeya transferred part of its territory to establish the Diocese of Singida .
On December 21, 2018, Pope Francis elevated the diocese of Mbeya to the rank of archdiocese [1] .
