Career
Wünsch debuted at the World Cup in 1983 , at the same time, for the only time in his career, he was in the top thirty in the individual race at the World Cup stage. Wünsch's best achievement in the overall World Cup standings is 48th in the 1982/83 season.
At the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo , he took 23rd place in the 15 km race with the classic style, 25th place in the 30 km race with the free style, 43rd place in the 50 km race with the classic style and 9th place in relay race.
At the 1982 World Cup in Oslo, he won the bronze medal in the relay.
