- April 18 - the Jannowitzbrücke station ( German: Jannowitzbrücke ) was opened as part of the Heinrich-Heine-Strasse - Hezundbrunnen section U8 lines of the Berlin Underground [1] .
- July 21 - Omonia station of the Athens metro was rebuilt (acquired the appearance of a metro station).
- October 15 - Gare d'Osterlitz station ( French: Gare d'Austerlitz ) changed its name from Gare d'Orleans to Gare d'Orleans-Osterlitz [2] .
- October 17 - Buenos Aires Metro Line B stations open:

- The construction of subway cars of type CIII and CIV (a type of subway car of type B ) in the Berlin metro has begun [4] .
