Landsteins or Pans from Landstein ( Czech. Landštejnové, Páni z Landštejna , German Herren von Landstein ) - a branch of the ancient Czech family Vitkovichi founded by Vitek IV from Klokot (until 1194 - 1236/1253).

Family History
During the division of the possessions of Vitek I from Prčice (d. 1194), the youngest of his four sons, Vitek IV from Klokot, received the estates of Lomnice , Skalice and Trebon , which became the original center of possessions of this branch of the Witkowicz . Landstein Castle, which gave it a generic name, passed into the possession of this branch of the Witkowicz after 1259 .
Vitek IV of Klokot had three sons who shared his possessions: Pelgřím from Treboni , Vitek from Skalice and Oiirž from Lomnice . Oiirž from Lomnice annexed Trgove-Sweeney (until 1260) and Nowe Gradi (until 1279) to his possessions. The son of Pelgrim from Treboni Sezim (d. C. 1293) acquired the castle of Landstein .
Representatives of the Landstein clan occupied prominent government posts in the Czech kingdom in the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries: Vitek from Landstein (d. C. 1312) and his son Villem I from Landstein (d. 1356) held the position of the highest comrade , in addition to Villem I from Landstein in In 1345-1351 he was the hetman of Moravia, and in 1351-1356 - the highest Prague burggrave . Vitek from Landstein participated in the uprising against King Heinrich Horutansky , and Willem I of Landstein was one of the closest associates of King Karel I of Luxembourg . Mikulash Svitachek from Landstein (1434-1484) held the posts of supreme clerk and royal marshal.
The Landsteins built many castles in Southern Bohemia and owned many estates here, for example, Trgove-Sweeney , Nova Bistrzyce , Lomnice , Lipnice , Veseli , estates on Rakovnik . One of the lines of the Landstein family settled in Moravia, where they owned estates in Kromeriz and erected the Novi Svetlov castle.
Villem from Landstein (c. 1535-14.5.1612) was the hetman of Nove Mesto in Prague and was the last of the Landstein clan.
