Ikari Warriors is a computer game released in 1986 on arcade machines developed by SNK and published by Tradewest in the USA and Europe. In Japan, the game is known simply as Ikari ( 怒 букв, lit. "rage") . This game was the first SNK game to be a major success in the US and become a kind of classic. The game was released at a time when many clones of the Commando game appeared on the market. Ikari Warriors were distinguished from them by the use of a rotating joystick and a two-player mode.

Description
Game characters are soldiers named Ralph and Clark, who are supposed to get into the village of Ikari. Enemy soldiers, tanks and helicopters are trying to kill them. Along the way, they can discover power-ups that help defeat the enemy.
Ikari Warriors was the first popular game to use joysticks that not only deflected in 8 directions, but could also rotate ( TNK III , released by SNK in 1985, was the first game to use such joysticks) [1] [2] [3] [ 4] . Two buttons allowed you to shoot a weapon and throw a grenade. For cars without rotating joysticks, there was a button with the obscure name toggle , which turned on and off the strafe mode .
Continuations
2 sequels were released:
- Victory Road (1986)
- Ikari III: The Rescue (1989)
