Veteran ( Viet . Veteran ) - a volcano in southeast Vietnam in the province of Binh Thuan , in the area located in the South China Sea of the island of Fukui ( Vietnamese Đảo Phú Quý ), also known as Thu island ( Vietnamese. Cù lao Thu ) or Khoays island ( Vietnamese. cù lao Khoai Xứ ). It is an underwater volcano, located 150 km east of the coast. Volcanic activity was first reported in 1882. The reef discovered in 1880 disappeared after 2 years, apparently due to volcanic activity. Fumarole activity was noticeable on the surface in 1928. The volcano is located along the lineametas , which are a consequence of the movement of the Australian plate .
