Vola Ishan-Khoja (Uzbek: Vola Eshonxo`ja) (b.between 1786-1793 - d. In 1872/73) - Uzbek poet and public figure. Also known as Ishan-Hoja Ama. He wrote in Uzbek and Tajik.
Biography
The life of the Ox is known from the small recollections of contemporaries. The year of birth remains unclear: according to various accounts, he was born between 1786-1793. in the Yangikurgan becki of the Bukhara emirate, in the well-to-do family of the local judge Kazi Mir Inayatullah Khoji. He was blind at birth, which is why he was nicknamed Ama (Uzbek A`mo) - blind. He devoted his youth to study. He had a good memory, keen hearing and a beautiful voice. I went to Bukhara to study at a madrasah. During his studies, he became interested in politics and sharply criticized the regime of the emir, delivered speeches in madrassas and mosques. At the same time, he continued to write poetry and participated in the collections of Bukhara poets.
In 1821, when the Kipchaks revolted, actively supported the rebels, agitated the youth of Bukhara for action. After the defeat of the uprising in 1826, he went to the zone of confrontation and tried to protect ordinary Kipchaks from the arbitrariness of officials and the army. For his activities, he was prosecuted by the emirate police.
He spent the second half of his life in exile and poverty. He died in 1872/73.
Legacy
It is known that he composed two sofas in the Uzbek and Tajik languages. However, they have not yet been discovered. Numerous poems by Vola, included in collections of poems of the 19th century, have reached us. The author of both the original gazelles and imitations - of muhammas in the gazelles of Hafiz, Navoi and Mahzun.
