Biography
Born in the family of a theater critic and historian. During the Second World War he acted underground. Together with his wife H. Moskvyanka, under the conditions of occupation, he created the communist group “R” (Revolution). He edited the illegal newspaper Narodnaya Poland in Krakow (Paul Polska Ludowa), and later was one of the editors of the newspaper Narodnaya Tribuna (Paul Trybuna Ludowa). He took part in the work of the Secret University and underground cultural life in Krakow.
In October 1942, the Gestapo was arrested, tortured, after a painful investigation in the Montelupih prison during a mass execution in November, he was shot.
Creativity
Ignatius Fick is the author of many poetry collections, journalistic and historical-literary works. As a literary critic, he collaborated in publications of the left orientation (“Nasz Wyraz”, “ Sygnały ”).
