Acura RLX - executive sedan and new flagship Acura lineup, manufactured by Honda . The first information about the new generation Acura RL came from the corporation in December 2011, and then it was not yet reported about the name change, but it was known that the car will be shown in 2012 and that it will be equipped with the previous 3.5-liter engine [1] . A prerequisite for the appearance of the RLX was the concept car of the same name, shown in 2012 at the New York Auto Show [2] . Then, in June of the same year, official images of the preparing car were hit on the Internet [3] . In November, at the Los Angeles Motor Show , the final version of the sedan was shown, which is almost the same as its prototype [4] .

In the model range, the car replaced the business-class Acura RL sedan, despite the fact that their length differs by only 8 millimeters [5] . In the US, it went on sale in the spring of 2013, as the model of 2014, at a price of 48,450 to $ 60,450 [6] . In Russia, a car may appear in 2014, when general sales of Acura will begin in the country [7] .
Specifications
The RLX has only 1 engine so far - a 3.5-liter six - cylinder V-shaped petrol unit from the Honda J35Y3 series with a VCM cylinder deactivation system, later other engines should appear. The power of the engine transmits 6-speed automatic transmission . A hybrid installation of a gasoline engine and 3 electric motors with a total capacity of 370 hp should appear later . and average fuel consumption of about 7.9 liters / 100 km [8] . Such a car will have all-wheel drive with a P-AWS (Precision All-Wheel Steer) rear-wheel steering system.
Compared to the Acura RL, the body of the RLX is 52% more rigid at bending and 46% torsional, as the content of high-strength steels in it has increased to 55% [9] . The hood, front subframe and some external panels are made of aluminum.

Equipment
RLX is equipped with a new generation AcuraLink® system, two LCD displays - 8-inch navigation and 7-inch touch , Acura / ELS audio system, adaptive cruise control , Start-Stop systems and Agile Handling Assist (cornering and steering) other functions and helpers. Also, the car first acquired such innovations as electronic parking brake and help system at the start of the hill. Like the concept car, the RLX has the Jewel-Eye front optics design - multi-section LEDs first used on Acura cars [10] .

The concept Acura RLX, unlike the final version, had a hybrid installation, similar to the Acura NSX concept, but had no interior.
