Career
David began training under the leadership of former Australian basketball player and coach Brian Gurjan, and in 2001 joined the Victoria Titans team. The following year he moved to Denver , where he played at the college level. Coach in the United States was former NBA coach Mike Dunlap.
After gaining experience playing college, David returned to Australia and joined the Sandrigham Sabers team, in which he was nominated for the Rookie of the Year in the second most powerful Australian league. In 2004, he made his Australian Championship debut for the Sydney Kings club, but he did not get much time on the court in the first two seasons. However, then Barlow significantly added in many components of the game, and the team began to show high results.
In the 2006-07 season, the player got in good shape, but got a knee injury and missed almost the entire season. At the end of the season, Barlow returned to Victoria and signed a contract with the Melbourne Tigers . In the 2007-08 season of the Australian Championship, the player scored the best indicators in his career: 16.6 points, 5 rebounds per season. He also set a personal record of 37 points, 14 of 14 accurate shots from the game and 8 of 8 from the three-point distance. “Tigers” in the same season became the champion of Australia.
After Barlow received a call to the Australian national team to perform at the 2008 Beijing Olympics , the player was awarded the Alan Hughes Award, which is presented to male athletes in Australia. He became the Player of the Year 2008, who made the greatest contribution to the development of basketball at the state, national and international levels [1] . In July 2009, Barlow signed a contract with the Spanish club Zaragoza . In August 2011 he joined the Murcia team, with whom he signed a one-year contract. [2]
On July 13, 2012, Murcia extended the contract with the player for another two years. [3]

David made his debut for the Australian national team at the 2006 World Cup , where he averaged 6 points per match. He also performed at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and 2012 in London . He represented the national team at the 2010 World Cup . Champion of Oceania 2011 .
