Archaeoteleia novaezealandiae (lat.) - a species of riders from the Platygastridae family ( Archaeoteleia , Scelioninae , or Scelionidae , according to other classifications). New Zealand The length of the females is 4.5-5.0 mm (males - 3.5-4.4 mm). The general body color is tan. The mandibular palps are 5-segmented; lower labial palps composed of 3 segments. The antennae of both sexes are 12-segmented. The formula of the joints of the legs: 5-5-5; Shore foot formula: 1-2-2. Parasitize on the eggs of cave grasshoppers Gymnoplectron spp. ( Orthoptera : Rhaphidophoridae , Macropathinae ) [2] . The species was described in 1968 as a type species of the new species Archaeoteleia by the Canadian entomologist Lubomir Masner and named after the place of discovery [1] .
