Khoroshev, Alexander Stepanovich

Born in the family of a military lawyer. In 1958 he completed his studies at the secondary school of Novorossiysk . From 1960 to 1965 he studied at the History Department of Moscow State University . After completing the training, he worked as an editor in the Scientific and Editorial Map Composing Part of the Main Directorate of Geodesy and Cartography . In 1968 , he left editorial work and entered graduate school at the Department of Archeology of the History Department of Moscow University, which he graduated in 1971. In 1972 , under the leadership of V. L. Yanin , he defended his dissertation on “ The Church in Socio-Political the structure of Novgorod ( X - XV centuries). ” In 1987 , she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "The Political History of Russian Canonization ( XI - XVI centuries)."

He worked at the Department of Archeology at Moscow University from 1972 to 2007 (he went from a junior research assistant to a professor). He served as deputy chief of the Novgorod archaeological expedition. From 1992 to 2007 he was at the head of the Center for Organization and Support of Archaeological Research at the Novgorod Museum. He participated in archaeological expeditions to the excavations of Novgorod.

The scientific interests of A. S. Khoroshev were the history of the Russian Orthodox Church , archeology and the history of the medieval Novgorod state .

The funeral service was held on September 18 in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Balashikha . He was buried at the Novskoye cemetery of Balashikha ^[1] .

• The first wife is Verkhodubova Anna Veniaminovna (born 27.10. 1941 ).
• The second wife is Vzorova Tatyana Evgenievna.
• The son is Sergei (born June 14, 1964 ), his wife Kalistratova Julia Albertovna (born 1966 ), their daughters Elizaveta ( June 26, 1986 ) and Sophia ( January 28, 1989 ).
• Daughter - Olga (after Sirotin’s husband).
