Ulya-Ulya (national reserve)

Ulla Ulla [1] ( Spanish Reserva Nacional Ulla Ulla ) is a biosphere reserve located in the province of Frans Tamayo , in the department of La Paz , in the west of Bolivia .

The reserve is located on a high Andean plateau to the west of the city of La Paz , with an average height of more than 4,000 meters above sea level. Its western border is the state border with Peru . The park covers an area of ​​about 2,000 km ², its population is about 12,000 people, most of them from Aymara Indians. Andean condor ( Vultur gryphus , the largest flying bird in the world) and significant populations of llamas , alpacas , guanacos and the largest group of vicunas in Bolivia are found here.

The park was included in the UNESCO Register of Biosphere Reserves in 1977.
