Georgy Georgievich Filipchuk ( Ukrainian: Georgiy Georgіyovich Filіpchuk , born December 19, 1950 , p. In 2007-2010 - Minister of Environmental Protection of Ukraine.

In April 2012, Filipchuk was sentenced to three years in prison for abuse of power and official authority during the leadership of the ministry. Later, the Kiev Court of Appeal commuted the sentence to 2 years of probation [1] .
Education
In 1973, Georgy Filipchuk graduated from the History Department of Chernivtsi State University . In 1991 - graduate school of the Institute of Pedagogy of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. In 1995 - doctoral studies of the Academy of Natural Sciences.
Doctor of Education. Candidate dissertation "Development of national schools in multinational regions" (1991). Doctoral dissertation on “Ukrainian Ethnoculture in the Context of General and Pedagogical Education” (1996).
Georgy Filipchuk is the author of more than 200 scientific papers and articles on education, civil society, ethnoculture and environmental policy. In particular, he wrote the monographs “The Development of Education in Multinational Regions” (1996), “Ecology and Politics” (1998, co-author), “Ecological Policy: National and Global Realities” (2002-2004, co-author), “Glossary of Terms on Environmental Issues” , safety of life and activity ”(2003).

Career
1973-1977 - A history teacher at the Zastavnivsky secondary school in Bukovina. 1977-1978 - Methodologist of history and law of the Chernivtsi Regional Institute for Advanced Studies of Teachers. 1978-1994 - Inspector of schools, deputy head, head of the Chernivtsi regional administration of education. From 1990 to 1994 was a deputy of the regional council.
1994-1997 - MP of Ukraine of the second convocation, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Commission on Environmental Policy. He ran for parliament, being non-partisan.
1996-1998 - Chairman of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
1998-1999 - Associate Professor, Professor of Pedagogy, Chernivtsi National University. Fedkovich.
1998-2002 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the III convocation. At the time of the election - a member of the People’s Movement of Ukraine . Member of the Committee on Science and Education.
2003-2004 - Head of the service of the Minister for Relations with the Verkhovna Rada. 2004-2005 - Work in the department of philosophy of education and educational technologies of the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies. 2005-2007 - General Director of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Research and Training Center for Standardization, Certification and Quality Problems".
The confidant of the candidate for the post of President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko in TIO No. 182 (2004-2005).
October - December 2007 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation. He went to parliament on the list of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko .
From December 2007 to March 2010 - Minister of Environmental Protection of Ukraine in the government of Yulia Tymoshenko .
Family
Ukrainian. Father George Alexandrovich (1919-1979) is a worker, mother Anastasia Georgievna (1928-1965) is a collective farmer. Wife Natalya Alexandrovna (1959) - teacher. Sons Alexander (1978) and Andrey (1984).
Awards and titles
An excellent student of public education in Ukraine and the SSR. He was awarded the Makarenko Medal, the Order of Merit III (December 2000) [2] , II degrees (June 2008). Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (April 2009).
