Creation History
The idea of the project arose after the success of the “ History of Russian show business ”. Initially, it was planned to make the leader Igor Ugolnikov [1] (in the project he did appear, but as a guest and object of history). Filming started back in 2010, and ended in 2012. Thus, the creation of the project took almost two years. The “history of Russian humor” was planned to be shown in the fall of 2012 [2] , however, the broadcast of STS was launched only on February 2, 2013 [3] .
Despite the fact that “The History of Russian Humor” speaks a lot about Yevgeny Petrosyan , he refused to shoot in the project:
“The most annoying thing is that there is no Petrosyan. He refused. He was somewhat hounded in recent years, and he did not want to appear in the same project with those who poison him. ”- Boris Korchevnikov , an interview with the Kommersant newspaper dated August 20, 2012 [2]
Format
The project consists of twenty episodes. Each series is dedicated to one year. The story begins in 1987 - the birth of the so-called "new" humor. The history of humor will be viewed inseparably from the historical events that took place at that time, because all of them (namely, putsches, the emergence of “ new Russians ”, the collapse of the Soviet Union and attempts to build a new state) are reflected in the domestic humor and comedy programs.
The History of Russian Humor describes in detail the boom of political satire in the late “ perestroika ” years, the emergence and flourishing of the “ Full House ” in the 90s, the renewal of humor in the 2000s (“ Curved Mirror ”, “ Comedy Club ”), the emergence of new genres on television — the sketchbook (“ Gorodok ”, “ 6 frames ”, “ Our Russia ”) and the sitcom (“ My Fair Nanny ”, “ Daddy's Daughters ”, “ Interns ”), the transition from competitions in the framework of KVN to memes and photo collages in social networks.

Criticism
- The program is criticized for "lack of proper humor":
"What's the point? A dish with an unbalanced taste and a dubious aroma is served to us as “History”. Many fragments that are not related to each other or to the humorous theme of the fragments are aired. Almost at random. ”- [6]
