Biography
Nikolai Deshin was born on April 20, 1901 in the village of Darovoye (now the Venevsky district of the Tula region ) in a peasant family. He received his primary education, after which he worked at a tannery in Moscow . He took part in the Civil War . In 1941, Deshin was re-drafted into the army. Since August of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By January 1945 of the Guard, Senior Sergeant Nikolai Deshin commanded the guns of the 86th Guards Separate Fighter-Anti-Tank Division of the 82nd Guards Rifle Division of the 8th Guards Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the assault on Poznan [1] .
January 21, 1945 Dyoshin with his gun broke into Poznan and in street battles destroyed 8 machine guns and about a company of soldiers and officers of the enemy. Throughout the day, he repelled German counterattacks. In the battle, Deshin was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield, continuing to fight [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945, Senior Sergeant Nikolai Dyoshin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
After the war, Dyoshin was demobilized. He lived and worked in Moscow. He died on June 6, 1967 [1] . He was buried at Vostryakovsky cemetery [2]
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
