Biography
She was born in the village of Pesochnya, Bogoroditskaya volost, Yelninsky district, Smolensk province [1] (now the Yelninsky district , Smolensk region ) in a peasant family. She graduated from an incomplete secondary school in the village of Glinka , and in 1945 - a school of factory training at the Smolensk Flax Mill, where she acquired the specialty of a spinner of ring spinning machines.
Starting to work at the Smolensk Flax Mill, Catherine also mastered a number of related professions, due to which she began to regularly exceed production tasks. In 1959, she began working as a tanker for spinning machines. At this production site, she acted as the initiator of the brigadeless method of servicing spinning machines for removing and refueling. The innovative method of E. Lakhaeva was supported by other industry enterprises. E. Lakhaeva herself took an active part in the development and implementation of the plan for the re-equipment of the Smolensk Flax Mill.
In the future, when E. Lakhaeva began working as a senior yarn puller, she also applied in practice the best practices of the best textile workers in the country, thereby ensuring both product quality and increased labor productivity . In 1963 she became a member of the CPSU .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 9, 1966, Ekaterina Iosifovna Lakhaeva was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor for outstanding labor achievements in fulfilling seven-year assignments and achieving high technical and economic indicators for the production of fabrics, knitwear, shoes, sewing products and other products of light industry with the presentation of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal "Hammer and Sickle" [2] .
She took an active part in public life: was elected as a deputy of the Councils of People's Deputies at the district and regional levels; in 1968 she was a delegate to the XIV Congress of Trade Unions.
In 1978, E. I. Lakhaeva became a personal pensioner of national importance, but for another five years she worked as an instructor of production training at her own flax mill.
She lived in Smolensk. She died on January 9, 2013 at the 86th year of her life. Buried in the New Cemetery .
