Biography

Born in Krasnoyarsk. Since 1982, lives in Moscow . He started making his first writing efforts back in school in the 8th grade, when he tried to write his first novel, but very soon abandoned it. In the future, he made only short notes in the form of poems, prose or songs. Since 1985, he studied at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology , but in 1987 he joined the army ( Kantemirovskaya Division ) until 1989 . After he studied at the Civil Engineering Institute , but eventually in 1992 entered the Moscow State Medical and Dental University , which he graduated in 1999 , receiving diplomas of a radiologist , general practitioner and manual therapist. But, starting to work in his specialty, Dmitry began to try other professions and managed to work as a loader, welder, driver, radio installer, massage therapist, janitor and senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Radiation Diagnostics of the same MGMSU (2001-2003), before he finally realized that wants to be a writer.

When Western literature became available, Michael Crichton and Stephen King had a great influence on his future work. In 1999, he participated in the “ Own Game ” quiz , where, having won a small sum of money, he spent it on the purchase of a typewriter, on which he printed his literary debut novel “ Man Without a Shadow, ” which was published by Exmo publisher the same year. After that, there was a long pause in his work and the next novel, Radio of Fate , he released only in 2004 . The author of the trilogy of catastrophe novels “ Tower ”, “ Metro ” and “ Epidemic ”. Under the pseudonym Alexander Belov, in 2005, wrote the novels “ The Abduction of Europe ” and “ Shadow of Victory ” based on the television series “ The Brigade ”.

February 21, 2013 the premiere of the feature film-disaster " Metro " based on the novel of the same name took place (production company Igor Tolstunov " PROFIT "). Personal life

Married to Olga Safonova. In the marriage were born: sons Dmitry (born September 27, 2016) and Denis (born November 15, 2018). From a previous marriage, there is a son Dmitry (born December 6, 1997).
