Biography
Victor Nikolaevich Odinokov [1] was born on December 22, 1937 in the town of Klin, Moscow Region.
In 1960 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology named after DI Mendeleev .
Place of employment: Researcher at the Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, Siberian Branch, USSR Academy of Sciences (1960-1966); Senior Researcher, Novosibirsk Branch of the Research Institute of Polymerization Plastics (1966-1970); Senior Researcher, then Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Chemistry, BFAN USSR (1970-1993), now the Institute of Organic Chemistry, UC RAS; since 1993, the head of the laboratory of the Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, now INK RAS.
PhD thesis on “Production and some transformations of tetrafluorine derivatives of phthalic and tetraphthalic acids” was defended in 1967, his doctoral thesis on the topic “Controlled ozonolysis of olefins as the basis of the stereospecific synthesis of bi- and polyfunctional aliphatic and heterocyclic compounds” was defended in 1980.
Areas of scientific interest: organic synthesis, organic and bioorganic chemistry, chemistry of organofluorine compounds, chemistry of low molecular weight bioregulators (insect pheromones, juvenoids, ecdysteroids, tocopherols), ozonolysis. Scientific activity is devoted to the creation of low molecular weight bioregulators based on controlled ozonolysis of synthetic and natural unsaturated compounds and directed transformations of natural products.
Methods have been developed for selective ozonolysis of oligomers and polymers of conjugated dienes, new approaches to the synthesis of pheromones, juvenoids, terpenoids, polyprenols, which made it possible to create drugs to regulate the behavior of bees and reduce the number of insects that are harmful to agriculture.
Among the students Odinokova - 4 doctors and 33 candidates of sciences.
